These modes have the fastest refresh modes currently available in the image collection software.  They are optimized to obtain high refresh rates to accommodate using the PC to focus the SEM.

The PREVIEW modes are identical for SEC and BSE.

Below is a screen captured using a grayscale gradient image generator to simulate a SEM image.

This particular screen is the LINE mode which displays the image at left and an accumulating line profile on the right.  This line profile clears after each frame but displays each line scan for the entire image as it is refreshed.

Note there are several rendering options at the bottom of the Rapid Preview screen:

Fast 100 - 100 x 100 pixel preview.
Fast 200 - 200 x 200 pixel preview.
Line - Accumulating line profile display (see above)
Y-Mod - Y modulation mode. Simulates depth based on brightness.
Histogram - Accumulating Histogram.   See below.
Average - shows side by side view of raw image data and averaged image.  

This screen shows the histogram mode.  The histogram is reset by re-entering histogram mode.
