The current Mini Scan window is derived from one of our oldest features. It is essentially a reduced resolution image to enable fast scanning. Below is the Mini Scan window captured from a test PC running an image gradient generator instead of a SEM.
Mini Scan opens, only the image window is active. Mini Scan has the following options which can be activated with the mouse or keyboard:
These additional functions are selected by the mouse:
Finally, a status window appears at the bottom of the Mini-Scan window. Normally this window displays the current signal source, the dwell time, contrast setting and brightness setting. This is the only routine which actually displays the actual dwell time in microseconds. For reference, the dwell times are approximately 1, 3, 10, 30, 100, 130, 300 and 1000 milliseconds per pixel. These numbers are based on standard values of precision capacitors used in the gated integrator circuits. Note that the status window goes 'live' when moving the brightness slider. Click LineScan to go to the last option under the Secondary and Backscatter menus.
