LineScan

Home Up Full Screen Get functions MiniScan LineScan

The Linescan option is often overlooked as a tool for manually setting brightness and contrast.  Unlike the line profiling tools under the MiniScan and Preview options, LineScan lets you specify the location on the sample from which the line profile is generated.

This is a miniature version of the LineScan opening screen:

As soon as the LineScan option is selected, a reference image is collected, then line profile data is displayed (and refreshed live) in the window at the right.  Clicking the mouse on the reference image changes the location from which the line data is taken.

Linescan has the following option keys:

ASCII Save - saves the linescan data in a tabulated ASCII (Text) file.
Source - switches between SEC and BSE image.
Dwell - (minus) - decreases the pixel dwell time.
Dwell + (plus) - increases the pixel dwell time.
Refresh - scans a new image into the reference window.

This is the last option under the Secondary and Backscatter menu's.  Would you like to return to the SEC and BSE overview menu?
