To change image storage directories, select 'Directories' under the 'Misc....' menu.

The following window appears:

The C: drive should be designated as the temporary image storage location.
The working directory should be different than the directory in which the image collection software is stored. If the entered directory does not already exist, the program will create one.
The 'Working image directory' can be a network drive.
The 'Working image directory' must be write accessible. (Duh)

It is important to have the trailing backslash after the working image directory. Also note that only one directory will be created at a time, so if directories are to be nested, the higher level directories must exist in order for them to be created. Standard Windows tools can be used to create directories or folders, but the character string that designates the directory structure cannot be more than 50 characters in length.

The temporary storage location is the root directory of the C drive. Images are temporarily stored there under the filename TEMPFILE.TIF.  This file remains until another image collection occurs, so it accessible to Windows to facilitate auto image importing into a macro driven template.  Alt - Tab can be used to switch to Windows so this file can be imported.

The working image directory is where the TEMPFILE.TIF image is stored once it is given a filename.

Would you like to go to the next item under the MISC.... menu, Resolution ?
